Former Marumo Gallants goalkeeper Washington Arubi has signed for SuperSport United. Arubi, who was previously in the books of ‘Matsatsantsa a Pitori’ in the 2018-2019 Premier Soccer League season, is making a return to the club, on a one-year-deal, with an option to renew.
Arubi, 37, joins from relegated Marumo Gallants where he was part of the team that reached the CAF Confederation Cup semi-final last season.
Speaking in a statement released by the club on Wednesday, the Zimbabwean international said, “Coming back home is one of the best decisions I have made in my football career.”
“Matsatsantsa are very pleased to confirm the signature of Washington Arubi from Marumo Gallants on a one-year deal with an option to extend,” said the club’s statement on Arubi’s signing.
“And we would like to announce the signature of Tanzanian international defender Abdulrazack Hamza on a one-year contract,” continued the statement.
