Soccer lovers will once again have front-row seats to all the exhilarating on-the-pitch battles between the top 16 soccer teams in the PSL as the DStv Premiership kicks off on Friday 20 August. What a way to start a season than with league winners Mamelodi  Sundowns and runner up AmaZulu F.C clash in the first match of the season. The pair will square off at the Loftus Versfeld Stadium at 5pm.

One player who is optimistic about this much awaited clash is defender Philani Zulu, who has said that despite them losing their MTN8 quarterfinal match against Cape Town City over the weekend, they were ready for the League defending Mamelodi Sundowns.

Zulu said that they would take the positives they saw from the City game to Tshwane. “We have been preparing very well for this game and what we learnt from the Cape Town City game will help us in this one,” Zulu said.

Zulu added that the preparations for the game against the Tshwane outfit were going well and that they know how important this game is.

Zulu joined Usuthu recently from Soweto side, Kaizer Chiefs and said that he was settling well at the KZN based club as he knew most players personally. “The technical team also welcomed me very well and that’s what helped me settle well here at the team,” Zulu concluded.
