Kaizer Chiefs beat Stellenbosch FC 4-3 on penalties to qualify for the semifinals of the MTN , Chiefs had to come back from behind to equalise after the hosts found the back of the net in the first half, and coach Arthur Zwane has said that their opponents didn’t make their life easy.
Zwane said that they had to dig deeper into the game, he said that his side was blowing hot and cold in their performance.

“If you look at our performance the boys were blowing hot and cold and we were playing in patches. We looked like scoring at one point and then we were found wanting most of the time of which those are the things we can work on because it is a work in progress by yeah it was a very tight game as you could see even the way the goals were scored. It was from the mistakes from both sides. But also they also managed to hit the cross bar and the upright and that talks to us in terms of how we should set up from dead ball situations as well,” said Zwane.

“You could see that it will go down to the wire but as soon as we got a goal from that equalising goal it gave us hope and we looked like scoring another goal just to kill the game off but it wasn’t to be. Then we went to extra time where we had about two clear cut chances but their keeper kept them in the game. And then we went to penalties then we managed to take our four and they only scored three and missed the two. And as you know penalties are like a lottery so anyone can win from penalties, ” Zwane concluded.
AmaZulu FC, Orlando Pirates, Mamelodi Sundowns, and Chiefs will be drawn against each other later this evening during a live draw, with dates and venues being announced at a later stage.
