Football is back and the excitement has begun and what a way to kick-off a season than with a clash between defending champions and their runner-up. DSTV Premiership defending champions Mamelodi Sundowns hosted AmaZulu in the opening match of the 2021/2022 season at the Loftus Versfeld Stadium in Tshwane. The lone goal of the match came through a penalty by Themba “Mshishi” Zwane.

This is the second win of the season for the Brazilians, who are looking at doing the unthinkable and claim the fifth league title in a row,  Masandawana defeated rivals Kaizer Chiefs 2-1 in the MTN8 quarterfinals last weekend. Meanwhile Benni McCarthy’s Usuthu are registering their second loss anabolic steriods for sale in a row, they lost their MTN8 quarterfinals match against Cape Town City.

This result will be a much welcomed morale booster for Sundowns as they go against Gavin Hunt’s Chippa United at the Nelson Mandela Bay Stadium on Tuesday, while McCarthy and his troop hosts Swallows FC in their second league match on Wednesday.
