DSTV Premiership defending champions, Mamelodi Sundowns retained the winning streak yet again after beating Orlando Pirates 0-1 in their DTSV Premiership match played on Wednesday evening at the Orlando Stadium.
The lone goal of the match came through Lucas Ribeiro who converted a penalty in the first half of the game, making it seven wins in as many league matches. Sundowns are now seven points clear from Golden Arrows, who are second in the league log.
Pirates, meanwhile, who are eleventh on the log standings, are suffering their second defeat in five league games, having collected 14 points.
The teams will be in MTN8 action this weekend, with Pirates at home to Stellenbosch on Sunday and Sundowns hosting Chiefs in the City of Tshwane on Saturday. Kick-off for both matches is 3pm.
