Mamelodi Sundowns host their cross town rivals SuperSport United in an MTN 8 quarterfinal match on Sunday at the Tuks Stadium in Pretoria, and according to Downs Co-coach Rhulani Mokwena this will be an entertaining game.
Addressing members of the media during a press conference at the PSL Offices in Parktown, Johannesburg, the outspoken Mokwena said that while he has great respect and a soft spot for SuperSport coach Gavin Hunt, this was a game they want to win.
“We are going to come against a very experienced coach in Gavin Hunt, I have a soft spot for him. He is a different person behind the cameras than the one in front of the camera. He is building a strong team with dangerous striker in Bradley Grobler, and depending who he partners with, whether (Thamsanqa) Gabuza or Gamphani Lungu they can cause problems.

“They have a great three man defence led by Thulani Hlatshwayo which is hard to break down, but having said that we are prepared for this game and we want to make sure we go for a win and move to the next round. It seems the easy way to win a trophy after four games but it’s very hard to achieve that, but if you look at both teams it will be an entertaining game, ” Mokwena said.
Mokwena also took a moment to applaud the decision to stage the match at Tuks Stadium, he said it was great for marketing the team, mainly to the young supporters who are either in high school or in colleges as that the age group or age bracket which is identifying themselves with the brand Mamelodi Sundowns. He also said that the turf at the Stadium was very good and conducive to good football.
