Marumo Gallants lost 1-0 to Maritzburg United in a DStv Premiership encounter on Wednesday afternoon. The Limpopo-side were dealt a huge blow when United found the back of the net in a game which looked like was going to end in a goalless draw.
After the loss, a seemingly disappointed Gallants coach, Sebastian Migne, said that football was a cruel game.
“As much as it’s entertaining it is also heart breaking. We played very well and we though we would at least go back home with a draw and at the end we lost the game. It’s tough and painful,” Migne said. The French born mentor said that it was painful for the players because they gave all they had and a draw could have been a fair result.
He however doubted the set piece which Maritzburg scored from but he added that they also relaxed towards the end and that cost him the game even the point which they would have come back with a point from this game. Gallants are currently on the 16th spot, while their upcoming match against Cape Town City FC has been postponed.
