Mamelodi Sundowns will have to dig deep when they travel to Egypt to face off against Pyramid FC in the second leg of the CAF Champions League final. This after the Brazilians conceded a very last minute goal in the first leg played on Saturday at the Loftus Versfeld Stadium in Pretoria, South Africa.
Sundowns, who broke the 0-0 stalemate at the second stanza of the match, Â through Lucas Ribeiro Cost, were set to seal the match with a 1-0 win over Pyramids, after holding on to the lead until the dying minutes of the match, when the Egyptian visitors stole an equaliser.
Walid El Karti scored with a header in the last minutes of the match to give Pyramids a slight advantage when they head into the second leg on June 1, they walk into next week’s match with an away goal advantage.
Sundowns are in search of the second star, and they will surely be under pressure to give their all in Egypt, they will have to score a goal, and make sure they do not concede a goal for them to win, meanwhile Pyramid will ensure to either score more than one goal or play to a goalless draw to lift the CAF Champions League trophy.
The capital city of South Africa, Pretoria, offered Masandawana an advantage of the 12th man, a full house of supporters who painted the packed Loftus stands yellow, and sang their hearts out throughout the match. This is a luxury they will have to do without next week. Kick-off time will be announced in due course.
