On Saturday after a long time out of the team Mamelodi Sundowns midfielder George Maluleke was given a chance to play in a CAF Champions League encounter against Sudanese side AL Merrikh.
The former Kaizer Chiefs midfielder didn’t just have a good game but he also scored the opening goal in the 3-0 win.
After the game the Tembisa born playmaker said that he was happy, excited and honoured that he came back played well and scored. Maluleke also promised that there was more to come from him.
“I am happy that I played. I hope I played well because I enjoyed the game. What a way to come back and score and the team wins. That felt very good and I hope there is still more to come. I am happy, relieved, excited for what’s coming up.
“But I am just happy we got a positive result today. We played well but we could still improve the performance. I am happy that we won; but I think there is still a lot to improve on. I scored and it’s my first goal for Sundowns. That’s special for me and this one will go into my archives, ” Maluleke concluded.
