Zwane says Ngezana is seeing psychologist

Kaizer Chiefs coach Arthur Zwane has said that troubled defender Siyabonga Ngezana is on a programme to see psychologist to help him overcome the problems he has faced since the mistakes he made in the Mamelodi Sundowns game which Amakhosi lost 3-0.

Since that game Ngezana has been making mistakes and he has even been booed by some quarters of Chiefs supporters.

However head coach Arthur Zwane has said that they have sought professional help for the Sebokeng born defender and other players as well.

“Yeah its true we have the welfare of the players at heart and that’s why we have sought a professional help of a psychologist for Siya(Ngezana). He will be attending this programme with other players because they all stress when we lose games. But even when we win they still go through stress in different way and we have to help them deal with that.

Just like I said that Itu (Itumeleng Khune) is going through a different programme to help him regain his focus, his fitness and his confidence. Though we know his value and his experience we can’t just throw him in the deep end. What if results don’t go our way when he plays. What then? So we have to wait until he is ready before we can play him. But he is still part and parcel of the team.

So with Siya as a leader and a coach I have to support him through this difficult times and he by his side. We have all make mistakes in football. Great players have made mistakes in football and it’s important to have that much support to help them bounce back. And that’s exactly what we are doing with Sita, ” Zwane concluded.
