Kaizer Chiefs striker Ashley Du Preez says the interest he has been receiving from European clubs motivates him to work hard. According to recent reports, Portuguese club Victoria SC have shown interest in his services and have also enquired about his availability.
Du Preez said interest from other clubs motivates him to work hard for the club he currently represents.
Responding to questions from members of the media during the Kaizer Chiefs media open day at their Naturena headquarters on Monday, he said it’s always good to know there are European teams interested in him.
Chiefs will play hosts to Cape Town City on Wednesday evening for their Betway Premiership League game at the FNB Stadium, kick off is at 19:30pm.
“It motivates you. There is a reason why they are interested in you as a player and all you can do is work hard for the team you are currently with. This is a big club Kaizer Chiefs, so my focus has always been here ” Du Preez told journalists.
In addition, Du Preez further stated that what he was working on now was to improve his game and help the team.
“I want to improve and help the team win as many games as we can and for me as a player to improve on scoring goals and help the team win. As a player you set goals at the start of the season. But then when things like injuries come along and all that you need to reset, refocus and start getting back on goals,” Du Preez concluded.
