The DSTV Premiership launched this year’s instalment of the MTN8 on Thursday, in Randburg. The launch was attended by coaches from all the eight teams, alongside their club captains.

The quarterfinal matches are being staged this weekend, with Mamelodi Sundowns kicking off the fixtures against Moroka Swallows, kick-off is at 3pm at the Lucas Moripe Stadium.

Orlando Pirates host Sekhukhune at the Orlando Stadium, kick-off for this fixture is 6pm, and being the defending champions, the Buccaneers will be looking at advancing to the semi-final stage.

Sunday fixtures see Kaizer Chiefs travel to Cape Town to faceoff against Cape Town City FC, while SuperSport United host Stellenbosch FC at the Peter Mokaba Stadium. kick-off for these two fixtures is 3pm.

The launch also saw the league unveil the tournament’s new trophy; Pirates are said to be keeping the old one as they have now won the tournament four times.
