Club chairmen, administrators, former footballers, to name a few joined the Mancer family in sending Squire to his resting place, in Johannesburg
In his eulogy to the man he had worked with for well over two decades, Premier Soccer League Chairman, Dr Irvin Khoza said, “The first thing that hits my brain when I think or talk about Peter Mancer as the deceased is the unbelievability of that fact – that he has departed. Those that know the Squire well, know what I am talking about. His invincibility was of a nature that would defeat even death.”

Kaizer Chiefs Chairman Dr Kaizer Motaung Snr also penned a moving tribute to Squire, saying, “We will remember him as a jovial and energetic fellow who was very committed to his work. The family and friends have lost a great human being in Peter. He always wore a captivating and welcoming smile. He was a flamboyant character who came from a background of entertainment in his earlier days and drew on this to introduce many exciting innovations to South African football. The PSL was blessed to have someone like him because of the skills and quality that he brought to marketing in the football industry.”
