One of South Africa’s experienced football administrators Luyanda Papu is earmarked for a South African Football Association (SAFA) post to work with different national teams starting from the Under17 up to the senior national team Bafana Bafana.
According to a source very close to the matter, SAFA wants to have administrators who can help the association avoid some logistic mistakes which the associations sometimes faces when the national teams are on duty.
“Luyanda Papu is one of the administrators who SAFA wants to work with because of his experience. He has worked with players agents and managers and has also been running and hosting the New Years Cup Tournament for almost six years now, so his experience comes in handy,” the source said.
Called for comment SAFA CEO Tebogo Montlanthe confirmed that Papu is on their database for administrators who the associations uses from time and again though they are not employed on full time basis.
“That’s true, he is one of the administrators that we have on our database who we use when the need arises. They are not full time employees of SAFA but we work with them on part time basis,” Montlanthe concluded.
