After playing to a goalless draw in the first leg of the MTN 8 Semi-finals against Mamelodi Sundowns at the Orlando Stadium on Saturday afternoon, Orlando Pirates Coach Jose Riveiro said that he believes that they had a good game as a team.
The Spaniard said that he thought that his team attacked very well although they started slow in the first half.
“I am extremely happy with the way we played. We always want to control the game and play the way we want to and we did just that. I was not surprised that we had an advantage at the end of the game because we controlled the game from the first half. We had times where we could have scored and won the game but it was not to be. Now we have to look at other games that are coming before the second leg. We have to think about our next game as we are traveling to Polokwane to play Sekhukhune United. Our focus should be on that now, ” Riveiro said.

Meanwhile the coach also commented the behaviour of the fans who had packed the stadium, saying that he was surprised at how well behaved supporters from both the clubs were, considering how packed it was.
“I have to thank the supporters and the way they behaved. It’s very rare where you find supporters from both teams in a game of this magnitude behaving very well and co-existing like that. It’s really good to see that and the support that we received from our supporters. You know football must be a party and today it was a party indeed, ” the Spanish coach concluded.
