Orlando Pirates will be hoping to squeeze in an away or possibly a winning goal in the return leg of the MTN8 semi-final against Mamelodi Sundowns at the Peter Mokaba Stadium on the 22nd of October 2022, this after the two teams played to a 0-0 draw at a packed Orlando Staidum on Saturday afternoon.
Pirates travel to Limpopo to face Sundowns in the second semi-final match of the tournament, the deciding match which will see the winner travel to the Moses Mabhida Stadium for the final on November 05.
The two teams dished out a wonderful game of football which deserved to be watched by the more than 35,000 fans that filled this iconic Soweto venue. Even an unusual R80 ticket price for the cheapest ticket didn’t turn the fans away from coming to watch this game live.
The stadium became abuzz with every threat on the goal posts on either side, however no goals were produced in the 90 minutes of play time.
Focus now turns to the neighbouring FNB Stadium where the other semi-final match will be staged. Kaizer Chiefs welcome KwaZulu- Natal side AmaZulu FC for the tournaments’ second offering. Both sides will be looking at getting a goal through the net, especially visitors Usuthu, who will enjoy the benefits of an away goal when they in turn host Amakhosi.
Kick-off is at 15:30pm.
