According to popular belief, Kaizer Chiefs coach Arthur Zwane is feeling the pressure of being Chiefs’ “Commander in Chief” and his grey hair is proof of it. Zwane was handed the reigns following the departure of former coach Stuart Baxter last season, and the club has been blowing on and off.

Zwane has however laughed off the white hair comments, saying that the pressure at Chiefs comes with the job.

Speaking on Wednesday at the club’s headquarters in Naturena, Zwane said that he started feeling the pressure when he started coaching the club’s Under 17.

“The grey is a blessing,” he said with laughter. “But to be honest there is always pressure coaching at Kaizer Chiefs. I started feeling the pressure as soon as I took over as Under 17 coach then when I went to the Reserves it grew bigger. I know that I told the players that we have to first find the identity of Kaizer Chiefs and then the results will follow.”

“After some few games in the Diski Challenge the results started showing and that was after finding the identity and that comes with pressure as we want to build the identity and at the same time we want results, and that pressure has continued up to now in the first team.

We are always playing for results and that puts pressure on not only me as a coach but all of us as a team. We need to work hard to achieve the results. And if we can do well in this MTN 8 then we will ease down the pressure, ” Zwane observed.
