Swallows FC on Wednesday announced that they have parted ways with Coach Dylan Kerr after almost a season with the team.
Speaking to Victor Molefe on Ukhozi FM on Wednesday evening, Swallows FC CEO Sipho Xulu said that they were grateful for what the Maltese-born coach had done for the team, winning where he won and failing where he failed but he took the team to where it was now.
Xulu further said that though Kerr did well in the past they had to look at the current results and said that if results were not forth coming “something had to give”. He said they didn’t just look at one game, that particular loss to Golden Arrows, but looked at different results of the team. Xulu added that they also looked at the loss to Stellenbosch FC and also looked at all the eight games that they have played in the DStv Premiership so far and they were not happy at all.

“We also looked at the whole performance from the start of the season and we were not happy. We saw that there was no positive chance and we also looked at what he has done since joining the team and saw that there was nothing much that he had done for the team. We have seen that there are other things that he has said about players and other things in the media which we don’t know as a team, ” Xulu said.
Xulu added that as far as the coach saying that there are some senior players who were sabotaging him, as a team they don’t know anything about that.
“As I have said before, he could have come to us as a team first and say what he is saying rather than us hearing about in the streets or reading about it in the media. We never got that from him. We got that from the media. We can’t deal about issues which we don’t know in the media or on radio before we deal with them from within. But I refute those reports. There is nothing that he reported to us about that and that’s one thing we were fighting over, ” Xulu added.
