Mamelodi Sundowns left winger Lyle Lakay has re-joined his former club Cape Town City FC on loan and coach Eric Tinkler says that they are excited to have signed the Bafana Bafana international.

Speaking on Thursday after the announcement was made, Tinkler expressed his excitement with Lakay’s signing.

“We are obviously excited to have signed Lyle Lakay, obviously a player with a lot of experience. A player who has been at the club before. In terms of how he plays it suits us, and I think he is a fantastic replacement for Terence Mashego who has left us and joined Mamelodi Sundowns. I am extremely happy that we landed the deal and he has returned to Cape Town City. His experience will pay a lot of dividends for us going forward, ” Tinkler said.

Meanwhile Lakay said that it was a great feeling to be back at the club and that he was excited as well.

” Yeah it’s a great feeling to be back and it’s exciting. And I am looking forward to the rest of the season and helping this club. I also want to be in the Champions League and that’s why I came here. The Champions League is a big fish and I am going to contribute to the success of the club, ” Lakay concluded.
