National team Bafana Bafana are currently in camp ahead of two international friendly games against Botswana and Sierra Leone, and coach Hugo Broos said he was happy with the camp despite some injuries.

Speaking to the media through SAFA Media Officer Romy Titus on Tuesday, Broos said he had a good training day on Tuesday and that he was hopeful a full day of training on Wednesday.

“Yes yeah there are some players who couldn’t train today like Mashego but tomorrow (Wednesday) it will be okay. Mayo was with Cape Town City in Congo for the Champions League so he is coming tonight (Tuesday). Tomorrow we have a full group and I hope many things will be sorted out on the pitch.

“There were players who were happy and they did what we asked them to do. It was a good training and let’s hope that it goes on like this, ” he said.

Broos also said that Lyle Foster has left the camp due to injury and has been replaced by Kaizer Chiefs’ Ashley Du Preez.

” Yes yesterday (Monday) Lyle told us that he felt something in the last game on Saturday with his club. The doctor said we will see how things are going but today it was worse and we decided immediately to go for a scan and there was information that other things were not right so it was no use to keep him here because he won’t be ready for neither Friday nor Tuesday next week, so he had to leave camp,” he added

Speaking about Du Preez joining camp, Broos said, “It is a good opportunity for him also to show what his qualities are and if we can keep him in the group for the next games.”

Broos concluded by saying that although there were some changes he still wanted to have the strongest team since he took over as Bafana Bafana head coach.
