The Carling Black Label Cup is returning for yet another year, and this time there more than two teams. A fan favourite, the Carling Black Labe Cup this year celebrates a decade-long legacy and promises to continue giving football loving fans unprecedented power over the game.

In its inception the one-day spectacular was reserved for just the two Soweto Giants, Orlando Pirates and Kaizer Chiefs, this year however, all 16 DSTV premiership teams stand a chance to participate on the 12th of November. The games are scheduled to take place at the iconic FNB Stadium.

Sponsors, Carling Black Label, Super Fans of the 16 DSTV Premiership Teams and members of the media gathered at a media launch on Tuesday, where it was revealed that four fan-chosen clubs will partake on the day. The clubs will be chosen by their supporters via a voting system, which is now open and closes on the 2nd of October 2022.
Fans will also have a chance to choose their starting eleven for the respective clubs, voting will run until the 6th of November, where an announcement is expected to be made.

Speaking at the media launch, Carling Black Label Brand Director, Arne Rust expressed the brand’s excitement for this year’s games. “We know that this is what the Champion fans have been asking for. It gives is great pleasure to host the Carling Black Label Cup that includes all the top-flight football teams.”

Meanwhile, while the “Be The Coach” competition has been dropped this year, the tournament will see one lucky voter walk away with a cool R100 000 cash prize just by voting.
Tickets for the day will start selling soon from R80.
