Mamelodi Sundowns have so far lost only one DStv Premiership league game of the current season and that was the 1-0 loss to TS Galaxy, and as the Brazilians prepare to face Tshwane cross town rivals SuperSport United, coach Manqoba Mngqithi has said that he always wants to win as he regards himself as a bad loser.
The coach was speaking on Wednesday at the club’s headquarters in Chloorkop during their media day. Mngqithi said that he, just like his fellow coaches, always wants to win.
“I am a bad loser, I want to win every game that I play in. I remember when I started my job as a Head coach, it was for an ABC Motsepe side and I went 20 games without losing. I won first 15 games of that season. That’s how much I just love winning. Even now as a team we don’t want to lose games, and going into the SuperSport United game we would want to fight for those three points,” he said.

Mngqithi added, “we would have liked to have collected more points from the five games which we have already played but it didn’t happen. We ask ourselves could we not have done better against TS Galaxy and Sekhukhune United? But again sometimes it’s good to start slow and improve as the season progresses.”
“Like in the season when we got 71 points we didn’t start very well but improved in the second circle of five games. If we can do that even this season then that would be good. But for now let’s deal with this game on Friday, get the three points and move on from here, ” Mngqithi observed.
