Orlando Pirates will once again face Royal AM, this time in an MTN 8 Quarterfinal match on Saturday at the Chatsworth Stadium in Durban, and Bucs coach Jose Riveiro has said that is pressure that’s what keeps them going.

The Spanish-born mentor told a media briefing at the PSL Offices this week that a team was as good as their last game, and that they always want to improve and do better.

“We would have wanted to have more points in the league by now but we don’t. We have 11 points and we are on top of the league and that’s good for now. Yes pressure is always there but that’s what keeps us going. Even when we wake up in the morning we know there is pressure and we have to work hard to get the results and move on to the next game,” he said.

“We have played Royal AM before in the league but this is a different tournament. It gives us a chance to fight for another trophy. We will go there looking to win and qualify for the semi-finals. You know every game is different but we want the same results and that’s to win. You should not look at how long or short the competition is but on how to achieve the results you want and we want to win on Saturday against Royal AM, ” Riveiro added.

The Bucs Mentor added that while he was happy that his players were creating chances, he was concerned at their lack of conversion of the created chances.

” I will keep on repeating myself. It’s good that we create chances though we don’t score all of them. If you can score one and win the game that’s good. Yes we would want to end the game at 4-0 but if that doesn’t happen it doesn’t happen. The most important thing is that we create chances. I could have been worried if we were not creating chances at all, ” the Spaniard concluded.
