Stellenbosch FC head coach Steve Barker has said that his side has to impose themselves when they host Orlando Pirates in their first home game of the DStv Premiership 2022/23 Season on Wednesday evening at the Danie Craven Stadium.
Barker said that though they started the season with a draw they are pleased with the progress they have seen with the team so far.
“We know we would have loved to start the season with a win but since it’s the first week we will take that point and move on. Now our focus will be on Pirates. They are from a win and their confidence is high right now. We want to fight for three points in a game which will give us a good challenge, ” he said.
Barker also highlighted some upcoming difficult fixtures, but also indicated that they were looking forward to them.
” We have prepared well for the season ahead and we are progressing well. The players are adapting and we need to keep on fighting for results that we want. We are looking good and ready for the challenge,” Barker concluded.
