Mamelodi Sundowns have completed the transfer of Bafana Bafana captain Ronwen Williams, the club announced on Thursday, ending much speculation on his future.

Williams is the second player unveiled for the reigning champions’ ahead of the new campaign, as the National Team Captain joins Masandawana on a 5-year deal.

Williams has enjoyed a prestigious career with both his former club as well as his country, where he has accumulated over 250 appearances at the club, as well as earning 25 caps for his country.

Upon confirming his deal, Williams said: “I feel amazing, there is a lot of excitement, finally I’m here. I’m happy to be part of such a prestigious team in South Africa and in Africa as a whole, I feel at home already.”

“Sundowns has a wonderful record of adding trophies, I am looking forward to adding to the trophy cabinet. I have seen the Yellow Nation at the stadium, I’ve witnessed the atmosphere that they create for the players, they really are the 12th man and I’m excited to play for them – I am going to give my utmost best.”
