TS Galaxy veteran defender Vuyo Mere says his wish for the upcoming season is to achieve more than last season. Mere says as a team they have to make sure that they defend well and even score more goals.

“As of now we are in camp and we are training hard. We have to make sure that we do better this season than we did last season. For us to achieve our goals and objectives we need to give 100% at training which means that we will be giving the same 100% in a game,” Mere says.

The former Mamelodi Sundowns defender adds that the club has to give their all and make sure that they fight for the league title this season.

” We have the same technical team like last season and that’s an advantage to the team because we have an understanding together. We know it won’t be easy but we have to learn to defend well and keep clean sheets as well. That’s the way we have to approach the games this season and we can achieve what we want, ” Mere adds.

On him going into second decade of his playing career and what keeps him going Mere credits the grace of God.

” I can’t say I train hard. I can’t say I am better than others but I can say it’s the grace of God. He gave me this talent and he is keeping me strong and health. It’s because of his grace that I want to keep on playing as long as I can. I pray everyday for strength and energy from him and that’s what keeps me going, ” Mere concludes.
