Bafana Bafana coach Hugo Broos has highlighted that though they lost 2-1 to Morocco in their AFCON 2023 qualifiers opening match, he was not disappointed with the performance. Speaking to SAFA Media after losing 2-1 on Thursday night the Belgian born mentor said that the team played very well, considering that they were a man down and also played against a strong Moroccan side.
“It’s true we didn’t get the result we wanted but we played very well. We conceded the second goal when we were a man down and I think we could have done better. But now we have to wait for September and make sure we win those two games. We played against a very strong and good Morocco side and I think we did very well. We put up a good fight tonight,” Broos said.
The coach added that at the end of the game he had to talk to the fourth official because he indicated that they will be four minutes added but they only played for two minutes.
” I just wanted to know why we played only two minutes of the four indicated. But we will move on from here and make sure in the next games in September we do very well,” Broos concluded.
