Banyana Banyana lost to Zambia on penalties to finish the 2021 COSAFA Women Champions played in Port Elizabeth. Coach Desiree Ellis said that they were not consistent throughout the tournament and that affected their performance.
” Against Zambia we didn’t start very well but improved with time though we were affected by an injury in the first half and we had to change things,” she said.
Ellis said that penalties are a lottery and any team could win. She was however disappointed with her defence as well which she said conceded some easy goals including the one against Zambia. She was however positive going forward as she said they have learnt from their mistakes in this COSAFA tournament.
