Stellenbosch FC continued their unbeaten run in the current season of the DStv Premiership when they overcame Chippa United 2-1 on Saturday afternoon. They reian on the third spot with eleven points, while Chippa are on the 13th spot, just above Kaizer Chiefs who are on the 14th position.
Coach Steve Barker has credited his entire team for the win and the current good form, he said that the credit for this win should go to the entire club and not just him as the coach.
“It takes the whole team to have two back to back wins in the league and continue the good run. It was not any easy game because Chippa are a good side but we had to attack them using the wings and make sure that we break them in their own half while pressing them. That worked for us and we managed to score and win the game, ” Barker said.
The former AmaZulu FC coach added that his players applied themselves very well and maintained discipline throughout the game which helped them to win the match.
