AmaZulu F.C and Golden Arrows played to a two all draw in the DStv Premiership on Wednesday afternoon and Usuthu coach Benni McCarthy has said that it was a missed opportunity for them to win the game.
Usuthu lie in the 14th position in the Premiership league log, their upcoming match is against sixth placed Limpopo-side Baroka FC; a win for Usuthu will be a welcomed opportunity to move up the league log. Benni will enjoy a home-ground advantage on Saturday.
“It was an entertaining game and we were supposed to have won it. Credit should go to Arrows keeper Sifiso Mlungwana who saved what could have been sure goals for us as he was always on the right place at the right time to deny us scoring opportunities which we had. He did very well for the team and kept them in the game, ” McCarthy said.
He added that they could have won the game in the dying minutes when his player was kicked in the box but he didn’t go down but stood on his feet. He said he has great respect for the player.
” We are happy with a point as we were playing a good team and we haven’t played the way we did last season and we take the point with pride,” he said.
McCarthy said that from this game they should improve and get a better result staring with Baroka FC where they would look for a win. He says if they can win one game then they would have turned the corner for better results as they have seen that they can improve from here going forward.
