Maqsood Chenia has joined scores of South Africans in paying tribute to the late Anthony Reeves. The former SAFA NEC member, died of a heart attack on Saturday morning, 7 August 2021.

Reeves was a former SAFA Johannesburg Region President from 2006-2017 and was currently serving in the SAFA Competitions Committee.

“Peace be upon you all. My deepest sympathy and condolences to the Futsal Family and his immediate and extended family. He will sorely be missed by all of us for his  impeccable leadership and immense love for the game for the long and short  version,” Chenia said.

“His tireless effort he put in to resolve disputes and conflicts, he will always be remembered for this gifted effort. He will be greatly missed in Ennerdale for his great civic and  football sacrifices.

He was just one great individual with only concerned about the interest of others. Football will definitely not be the same without  him. I pray that Safa acknowledges his tireless contributions to the beautiful game. Life will definitely not be the same without  this kind soul. May his Soul rest in peace. With due respect Coach Macky ( Maqsood Chenia),” he added.
