Newly appointed Kaizer Chiefs coach Stuart Baxter, who is making a return to the club, has said that he is comfortable with the decision to come back to Naturena. Baxter’s reappointment comes after the sacking of Gavin Hunt, following a string of poor results.
After weeks of speculation, Kaizer Chiefs today confirmed Baxter’s return on a two-year deal.
” The first time I arrived at the club the team had not won anything in a long time but the priority was not just to win something but to build a good team that would relate with the supporters and also have an identity and after his first season at the club where we won the League and the Nedbank Cup we became the hunted in the following season but I feels the players handled success very well, ” he said.
Baxter also said that he and his team now have to reset and rebuild the spirit they had in the three seasons he spent at the club.
” The immediate challenge for me and the team is the CAF Champions League where I have to identify few things including technical for the team to do well mainly in the first leg away,” Baxter added.
Talking about Molefi Ntseki also joining Chiefs Baxter said that he feels Chiefs have been expanding since the first time he was there and that the appointment of Ntseki is a move in the right direction as he is a great football man.
