Cape Town Town City Chairman John Comitis has said that he would be happy to see some of his players move to ply their trade overseas. He added that their main aim as City FC was to see their players develop into great players who can play in Europe.
He said as much as there were interests on their players locally their desire and aim were to send their players to European markets.
Comitis was speaking during the official welcoming back of coach Eric Tinkler on Monday. He also expressed some great words about coach Tinkler.
“Sometimes in a team a missing link is a person, and we feel that Tinkler is that person for their team. He has been here before and he knows the players and the culture of the team very well. We are happy he is back here, and we will be working together towards making the team a better one than it was this season, “, he said.
Comitis has given the returning coach a major task of preparing the team for the new season. One major boost for City FC players is that they have players in the Under 23 and Bafana Bafana. This, comitis said it was a sign that the team was doing very well.
About the season which is coming to an end on Saturday they want to finish in top eight and fight for trophies starting with the MTN 8 which he says depending on the results on Saturday they could face AmaZulu FC again. He said this would be an exciting game between the two teams.
